GTA 6 on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S: what's confirmed about performance

Rockstar has said very little about how GTA VI runs. Here's what's actually confirmed, and what's still rumor.

Frame rate

• Rockstar has said the game targets 30 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
• No 60fps "performance mode" has been announced. Rockstar hasn't promised one, and hasn't ruled one out for a later update either.

PS5 Pro

• No PS5 Pro settings have been announced. Rockstar has said details will come closer to launch.
• Posts claiming 40fps or 60fps on PS5 Pro are guesses from analysts and leaks, not announcements.
• If you're thinking of buying a PS5 Pro just for GTA VI, wait until Rockstar or launch reviews say what it adds.

Xbox Series S

Series S is a supported platform, but Rockstar hasn't said how it differs from Series X.

PC

There's no PC version announced or dated. Rockstar's past games came to PC after console, but nothing has been said about GTA VI on PC.

What the footage was captured on

Rockstar says the Extended Look gameplay presentation was captured from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.

What you can do now

• Turn on your TV's Game Mode to cut input lag.
• Clear storage early. Rockstar hasn't published the final download size, so check the store listing before pre-loading opens on November 12.

We'll update this guide when Rockstar confirms more, or when launch reviews and performance tests come out.
